Everlong features singer Dave Grohl and drummer Taylor Hawkins playing a couple whose dreams are invaded by villainous Teddy Boys played by bandmates Nate Mendel and Pat Smear. Grohl overpowers the thugs in his own dream, sprouting giant hands to slap them silly and protect his girlfriend's honor. But in Hawkins' dream, Grohl cannot wake her up, so he goes back to sleep and dreams his way into the plot of her dream, sprouting even bigger hands to save the day again. The video parodies the film Evil Dead and was nominated for Best Rock Video at the 1998 MTV Video Music Awards. |
