Frankie Goes to Hollywood was a Liverpool based band fronted by Holly Johnson with Paul Rutherford, Peter Gill, Mark O'Toole, and Brian Nash. They released two studio albums, ten compilation albums, seven singles, as well as nine re-issued singles.

In 1983, they released their debut single, "Relax", which turned out highly controversial, due to its sexually explicit lyrics and its music video. The video, which was shot in a gay nightclub, was banned by the BBC and MTV.
