Irreplaceable begins with Knowles filing her nails in silence, as her ex-partner packs up his property, as Knowles orders him to leave. Knowles follows him outside the house and leans on a 2007Jaguar XK. She repossesses things she bought for him and he get into a taxi. The video shows Knowles managing herself in front of a mirror; putting on a lipstick, wearing huge curlers and a high-waisted skirt followed by scenes with her singing with her all-female band, Suga Mama. It ends with Knowles greeting her new boyfriend at the front door. The video features the debut performance of Suga Mama and her acting-then-ex-boyfriend is model Bobby Roach. At the 2007 Black Entertainment Television Awards, Knowles won Video of the Year Award for "Irreplaceable". It was nominated for Video of the Year during the 2007 MTV Video Music Awards and for the Michael Jackson Award for Best R&B/Soul or Rap Music Video at the 2007 Soul Train Music Awards. The video received two nominations for Best Female Artist and Video of the Year at the 2007 MTV Australia Video Music Awards. |
