Sinéad O'Connor's Version[]
Nothing Compares 2 U was mainly shot in Paris and consists almost solely of a closeup on O'Connor's face as she sings the song's lyrics. Toward the end of the video, two tears roll down her face, one per cheek. The video won Best Video at the 1990 MTV Video Music Awards, the first video by a female artist to win in this category. It also won Best Female Video and Best Post-Modern Video. Sam Kinison's "Mississippi Queen" parodies the video. |

The official video, was released several years after Prince died, features rehearsal footage of Prince and the Revolution at Flying Cloud Drive Warehouse in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. |
